This system is available at alpha.hugfreevikings.wtf port 7023 for telnet VTxxx emulators.
VMS in general was one of the most popular and secure operating systems produced by Digital Equipment Corporation on it’s VAX and ALPHA line of processors. It was eventually obtained by Compaq, and then HP before it was sold off to VSI. Yes, it was also released for Itanium and most recently x86; but that's not when it was truly great and retro. That's why we're all here--right?
This system is running on an Alpha emulator, on QEMU running Debian 13. Yeah. It sounds convoluted but it works. You’re free to use it by connecting as GUEST with a password of GUEST. Please respect the system, don’t use it for commercial purposes and otherwise break stuff intentionally. If you break things accidentally, you’re one of us.
